Sometimes the most powerful concepts are the simplest.
Planting a flag and claiming territory is one of those. It’s an unspoken rule that when “terra nillius” (no man’s land) is found, the country that plants its flag on the soil first claims it.
Our best modern-day example would be when United States astronauts planted Old Glory on the moon. That simple act was both inspiring and visually profound on a national level.
While Classic Glass Corvette Club of Marietta (CGCC) didn’t plant their flag on a distant planet, they did lay symbolic claim to a portion of Caffeine & Octane’s new venue.
They also put everyone on notice that CGCC was committed to being a part of North America’s largest monthly gathering of car enthusiasts. That gesture wasn’t lost on the other automotive nameplates which were struggling to find their place at Town Center Mall.
Flag planting aside, the question we hear most is, “What was the C&O experience like at the new venue?”
New Venue, Same Fun
If you’ve followed Caffeine & Octane for a minute, you know it’s packed up and moved to different locations over the years. Undoubtedly, it was easier in the early days before thousands of people started showing up before sunrise.
Over the past three months, this event has been at Perimeter Mall, Lanier Raceplex in Braselton, and now Town Center Mall in Kennesaw. So not only did they move three times in three months, but they also moved from one side of Atlanta to the other.
Usually, that would be the kiss of death for a business, plain and simple. That is, of course, unless you’re Caffeine & Octane.
The truth is C&O just hits differently than any other car gathering. We’ve often called it “The Happiest Place On Earth” for a good reason.
The smiles are broad, the energy upbeat, and the discussion de jour is on the automotive eye candy around you. As far as the venue itself, Town Center Mall at 400 Ernest W Barrett Pkwy NW, Kennesaw, is a great location.
This venue has a spacious, fresh air feeling juxtaposed to the claustrophobia-inducing Marta train station and towering parking decks surrounding Perimeter Mall.
Regardless of the location, Caffeine & Octane ultimately delivers the comradery and down-to-earth fun that has endeared it to thousands of car enthusiasts.
VetteStock Is Coming!
In addition to planting their club flag, Classic Glass uses gatherings like C&O to promote their upcoming events. The next major event on the calendar is their highly-anticipated VetteStock celebration.
At its core, VetteStock is a National Corvette Museum (NCM) fundraising celebration. But, beyond the excitement of the car show, trophies, door prizes, and raffles, the fun will also get ratcheted up with a few other surprises.
We’ve been fortunate to cover this full day of fun with articles such as Classic Glass Corvette Club Scores Big With VetteStock 2021 and VetteStock Gives Back To The NCM.
Hudson Grille at 2500 Cobb Place Lane NW, Kennesaw, GA, will host this year’s show. If you’ve never been to Hudson Grille, you should visit the show just to experience what this five-star sports bar offers.
You won’t be disappointed.
VetteStock this year is Saturday, October 15th, 2022, rain or shine. Registration is from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the show going from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm.

See you there!
Great First Show
We didn’t know what to expect from the new C&O venue this month. The list of nagging questions boiled down to these three.
Chief among them was the most obvious, “Would attendance drop off?” That concern was quickly followed by, “Would the same quality of vendors show up?”
Finally, rounding out the trifecta, “Was there enough space for show cars and spectators?”
Fortunately, we can put all those fears to rest. The attendance was strong, the same vendors showed up, and there was more room here than at Perimeter.
Our big takeaway from spending the morning in Kennesaw was simply this.
It was a great first show, and you shouldn’t hesitate to plant your club’s flag at the next Caffeine & Octane event at Town Center Mall.
