Georgia Caravan Captain For The 30th NCM Anniversary.
Corvettes will be coming by the thousands from every corner of the country.
In what some call the “world’s largest moving automotive event,” regional caravans will form and join other Corvette caravans as they travel across the United States.
This 30th Anniversary Caravan will gather in Bowling Green, Kentucky, for four days of festivities at the National Corvette Museum (NCM). This eagerly anticipated celebration will occur from August 28th through the 31st, 2024.
David Klingensmith, President of Classic Glass Corvette Club of Marietta, will shoulder the responsibility of being the captain of the Georgia contingency.
In addition to his State Captain responsibilities, David is also the volunteer coordinator for the Corvette Museum. Needless to say, he is the one to ask about the upcoming trek to the Museum.

2024 Georgia Caravan Captain
Georgia Caravan Captain
Rod Worley – Editor – David, thank you for leading the 2024 Georgia Caravan to the National Corvette Museum for its 30th Anniversary. How did you get involved as a captain, and what kind of turnout are you expecting?
David Klingensmith – 2024 Georgia Caravan Captain – Frank Sancineto, the 2024 National Chair for the caravan, approached me several months ago about organizing the Georiga group.
I participated in the 2019 caravan and had a great time. That year, there was a huge turnout because the all-new C8 was coming out.
If memory serves me, we had 6,000 to 8,000 Corvettes and 12,000 people participate. There were Corvettes everywhere; it was unbelievable.
Over 4,000 people have registered already this year, and we’re still several months out. So, I anticipate we’ll have 6,000 to 8,000 Corvettes again.
Registration will open on Tuesday for those arriving early to Bowling Green. The activities start Wednesday with” Corvette Casino Night” at NCM Motorsports Park.
On Thursday, the 29th, the NCM Conference Center will host a Michelin Seminar and a Corvette Manufacturing Team Seminar. Also, that day will be “A Night With Corvette Racing” at La Gala, located at 601 State Street in Bowling Green.
Of course, activities, seminars, and social events are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

2024 Georgia Caravan Captain
Fun Trip Planned
Rod Worley – Editor – Can you share some of the details of your Georgia caravan?
David Klingensmith – 2024 Georgia Caravan Captain – First, we’ll leave on Tuesday morning, August 27, 2024. My route takes us over John’s Mountain on Highway 136 and over to Interstate 59 to bypass Chattanooga.
We’ll stop in Jasper for lunch and continue from there. We won’t be going through the heavily congested Nashville area either.
The plan is to hit Interstate 840 and take Tennessee State Route 109 through Gallatin. We’ll take some interstates but stay on as many back roads as possible.
I’ve also put together a package that includes lunch on Tuesday, a $25.00 gift card to the NCM Corvette store, a 2024 caravan window sticker, and a limited-edition challenge coin.
In addition, we’ll be raffling off a premium parking pass for the paved parking lot in front of the Museum during the lunch stop. The $750 valued parking pass is good for the entire NCM 30th Anniversary event.
This $115.00 per person package is limited to 125 people. If you’re interested, email me at [email protected] or call me directly at 770-712-2662.
Make checks payable to David Klingensmith c/o GA Caravan, 55 E. Davis Bridge Rd., Villa Rica, GA 30180.

30th Anniversary Of The National Corvette Museum
A Pure Corvette Celebration
If you love America’s Sports Car, you owe it to be a part of the national caravan. Just imagine rolling into Bowling Green with hundreds of other Corvettes.
Everywhere you turn, everywhere you look, there are more Corvettes than you can count. If that wasn’t enough, the Museum has seminars and events planned every day.
Plus, the NCM Motorsports Park is close by in case you need to scratch that need for speed itch. Also, did we mention that the Bowling Green assembly plant will conduct tours?
In the end, we’re not sure you could ask for more. If you’ve got further questions, contact the 30th Anniversary Georgia Caravan Captain, David Klingensmith.
You can reach him by email at [email protected] or by calling him directly at 770-712-2662.
We’ll see you in Bowling Green!
