By the time Valentine’s Day rolls around, we’re sick of winter.
It just so happens; we’re not the only ones. The Georgia Cool Cruisers (GCC) have been putting on the “I’m Sick of Winter” Sweetheart Cruise-in for the past nine years.
This one had to be rescheduled due to the weather, but trust us; it was worth the wait. Apparently, we weren’t the only ones who felt that way because the parking lot at Gateway Classic Cars was hopping.
With abundant sunshine and toe-tapping oldies music coming from the sound system, the mood was set for a great kickoff to the car show season. The GCC team, as always, had everything set and ready for a fun time.
And fun, as they say, was had by all who attended.
Denny Williams Motor Sports
Beyond planning and logistics, putting on a monthly trophy-awarding car show takes tremendous energy and passion. Also, at the end of the day, it takes strong vendor supporters who share your excitement.
We were introduced to Denny Williams, a long-time Georgia Cool Cruisers (GCC) supporter, during the show. We found it only takes a few minutes talking with Denny before you hear the excitement for cars and GCC events come out in his voice.
As the CEO of Denny Williams Motor Sports, his range of automotive knowledge is impressive, but his genuine enthusiasm and compassion stood out to us. In addition, it was clear that Denny truly enjoys bringing car enthusiasts and communities together.
In fact, it was hard to tell who was having more fun, Denny or the large crowd of car enthusiasts on hand. Either way, we’re thankful for Denny’s generous support of car shows and cruise-ins around the metro Atlanta area through GCC.
Gateway Classic Cars
Some venues just seem natural to host a cruise-in. Gateway Classic Cars at 1870 McFarland Pkwy Suite 300, in Alpharetta, GA, is one of them.
Besides Gateway’s genuine hospitality, they’ve got the advantage of having a car show outside as well as inside with their consignment vehicles. That comes in handy when rain clouds threaten or you just need to escape Atlanta’s sweltering heat.
The back story of Gateway Classic Cars is that they are a global marketing company of classic and exotic vehicles. They’ve sold over $620 million worth of collector and exotic vehicles since its inception in 1999.
They specialize in selling classic and exotic vehicles for private sellers, collectors, and estates.
2023 Upcoming Events
Most organizations plan all year to host a single car show. Georgia Cool Cruisers put on must-attend cruise-ins at various locations in the metro Atlanta area throughout the year.

Great 2023 Kickoff!
If the rest of the 2023 car show season is this much fun, we’re in for a great year.
The sheer number of quality hot rods turning out for this event was impressive, especially given how early it was in the year. Of course, Bowling Green’s finest still held sway in our hearts for a good reason.
While we’re not looking forward to the upcoming winter, at least next year, we have something to look forward to on the calendar.
We’re definitely highlighting the date for the 10th annual “I’m Sick of Winter,” Sweetheart Cruise-in for 2024 in red.
