Mark Twain once said, “Everybody complains about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.”
Though, there are times I wish somebody could, especially during the sweltering summer months at Caffeine & Octane.
Perspiration and glistening faces aside, the backside parking lots of Town Square at Cobb were filled with thousands of “fun in the sun” car enthusiasts. Fortunately, the crowd’s energy was as high as the temperature.
And once more, the plethora of jaw-dropping customs and exotic supercars didn’t disappoint.
Caffeine & Octane always rewards you for dragging yourself out of bed early on your day off.
Revfest Is Coming!
Classic Glass Corvette Club of Marietta is well known for hosting SuperVette Saturday and VetteStock charity car shows every year. We were excited to learn they’ve added a unique third show to their lineup.
Obviously, we went searching for Bob Catapano, the Event Manager for Classic Glass, for more details.
Rod Worley – Editor – Bob, we just learned about an exciting third event Classic Glass is adding to their lineup. Can you share some details?
Bob Catapano – Event Manager – Well, Rod, for the longest time, we’ve wanted to do three annual shows.
SuperVette Saturday and VetteStock are on the west side of Atlanta, so we wanted to do an event on the east side. For the past few years, we’ve been looking for a place large enough to park 100 to 200 cars comfortably.
As you know, Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) sponsors our two other annual events. So we were excited when they reached out about hosting a car show at their incredible facilities in Dawsonville, Ga.
And honestly, it’s a natural venue to host a car event, given their challenging two-mile-long road course.
The REVFEST event will be held rain or shine on August 5th and is pre-registration only. We are limiting the event to 125 Corvettes.

Corvettes Of Georgia
Rod Worley – Editor – Steve, can you tell us more about Corvettes of Georgia and what prompted you to start it?
Steve Reece – Corvettes of Georgia – I’ve always had a love affair with the Corvette. My father retired from General Motors.
My kids are out of the house, so I was able to go with my dream and get a Corvette. And then, what better way to enjoy your Corvette than to start a YouTube channel and share your passion with others?
Hopefully, it will allow others to experience the dream of owning a Corvette through my YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram content.
Most of my content is going to be on YouTube. So if you want to get everything, definitely, my YouTube channel is where you should start.
On Instagram, I post a picture a day. I hope Corvette enthusiasts will join us for videos of local Corvettes, car shows, news, and more.
If you want to show off your Corvette, send a photo and some info about your car to [email protected] to include in a montage video.
Yes, We Have Luggage
Good luck trying to guess the next hot trend or topic du jour in the Corvette community. You can read all the tea leaves you want or consult the high priestess Pythia at the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, and still, you could miss something.
One trend we didn’t see coming was the buzz around the 70th Anniversary C8 luggage. So when our readers started asking about luggage, we knew we needed to wear out some shoe leather tracking a set down.
Our search ultimately led us to the 70th Anniversary trunk of Frank Macaluso. We suspected he either had the much-ballyhooed travel accessory or knew someone who did.
You’ll remember Frank from our popular article, Top 5 Real-World Questions About The Eighth-Generation Corvette. Fortunately, he actually had the highly-prized leather bags in his trunk.
After close inspection, we can report that they are a gorgeously appointed travel companion and worthy of being in your sparkling new C8. And yes, as expected, they fit perfectly in the rear cargo space as long as you don’t overstuff them.
If you’re interested, email us at [email protected], and we’ll dive into these fine works of leather craftsmanship in a future article.
A Box Of Chocolates
The mystique of Caffeine & Octane for us is that every month is like a fresh box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get, and therein lies the draw.
From our magazine’s perspective, it’s like trying to cover the Oscars, FIFA World Cup, and the Super Bowl if they were all happening at once. There are so many compelling stories there that deserve to see the light of day.
Literally, we could easily gather a month’s worth of content at just this one event. If you haven’t made the pilgrimage to Town Center at Cobb recently, you should.
Just take a moment to check the weather before you head out the door to this rain-or-shine event. Because sometimes you need to be prepared to feel the heat, as we did this July.
But honestly, it was worth every drop of sweat.
