Some local traditions endure because they benefit the lives of so many in their community. The 17th annual Master’s Car Club’s 17th annual benefit car show is one of those long-lasting traditions.
Pecan street in Loganville was transformed into a hot rodders paradise under a perfect blue sky canopy. Side streets and avenues filled with all makes, models, and eras of ground-shaking automotive art.
This year’s focus charity was the Almsprings Food Basket, a non-profit food pantry for those in need. The food basket is a vital resource for those in need in this area from their location at 1209 Nathan Blvd.Suite C, Loganville, GA.
Master’s Car Club Delivers
The local hot rod community turned out for the Loganville event, in large part, due to the efforts of the Master’s Car Club.
This club is comprised of men and women with basic Christian values, a love for God, and a desire to share God’s love and the blessings he has bestowed on us.
The club is committed to supporting “The Logan House, “ which is a shelter for women and children designed to provide an opportunity for them to get back on their feet and become independent once again.
They share a passion for the preservation, restoration, and appreciation of automobiles. Their enthusiasm runs the gamut from antique, classic 50s-60s, street rods, muscle cars, and the technological masterpieces of modern-day technology.
They meet on the 1st Saturday of each month at 8:00 am for breakfast and fellowship. The group meets at Kellie’s Home Cooking restaurant at 4555 Atlanta Hwy Loganville, GA 30052 (this is optional).
The official Club meeting is at 9:00 am in the Sparky’s Machines facility located at 1209 Nathan Blvd. Loganville, GA 30052 (at the corner of Nathan Blvd. and US Highway 78).
Hot Rods and Heroes Support
Vendors and food trucks were out in force to service the hundreds of people who came out to soak up the sunshine and see the choice selection of hot rods. One vendor that caught out attention was Max and his Hot Rod & Heroes shop.
All manner of t-shirts and such were available that honored our local heroes and the Master’s Car Club. Of course, the “96 Rock” t-shirts brought a smile to our face.
The t-shirt logo brought back fond memories of the station’s album rock format used from 1974 to November 2006.
A Community Win
Block party car shows like this one held in downtown Loganville take an arduous amount of preparation and planning to pull off.
There are so many balls to juggle that it literally can’t happen without local officials’ coordination, an experience car club, and teams of dedicated volunteers.
When a plan comes together as it did for this 17th annual Master’s Car Club show, the entire community richly benefits in many ways. Hats off to the elected officials of Loganville for providing the critical support needed to bring a day of fun and excitement to their city.
Of course, the tireless volunteers and the Master’s Car Club deserve the lion’s share of the credit for packing in the hot rods once again for everyone’s enjoyment.
