Brilliant. Honestly, the concept is brilliant when you think about it for a moment.
If your business model is classic car consignment, what better way to bring more people to your showroom than by sponsoring a monthly car show. Beyond a way to show off their latest collection of consignment cars, the show is a good time.
The facilities and location lend themselves naturally to hosting a gathering of car lovers. Also, if you get bored with the show in the parking lot, take a few steps inside Gateway’s facilities, and you’ve got another collection to peruse.
And the best part? You can take one of them home with just a few signatures.
Gateway Does Consignment
If you aren’t familiar with Gateway, let’s get you up to speed. Gateway Classic Cars is a global marketing company for classic and exotic vehicles.
They’ve sold over $620 million worth of collector and exotic vehicles since its inception in 1999.
Their specialty is selling classic and exotic vehicles for private sellers, collectors, and estates. Currently, there are 20 Gateway showrooms near major metropolitan areas across the United States.
Their website is home to their entire national inventory, giving you even more options.
Show Up & Make Money
Corvette clubs are always in search of activities and ways to raise money for their charities. What if you could do both at once?
What if you could make up to $200 for your organization simply by showing up at a car show? Could this be any easier?
To get the facts, we spoke to Kim Althage, Public Relations Manager for Gateway Classic Cars. Kim said, “If your club signs up as a “Featured Car Club” we donate $10 per classic car (10 classic minimum), with the maximum amount being $200.”
She also said, “GCC also heavily promotes their club as our “Featured Car Club” leading up to our Caffeine and Chrome event to tens of thousands through our social media channels. This exposure helps the club attract new members, which is the lifeblood of any club.”
If the featured club chooses, there are more opportunities to raise funds. For example, Gateway allows you to offer 50/50 raffle tickets or other direct contributions from all those in attendance since the event itself is free of charge.
Lorberphoto Captures The Moment
The parking lot’s assemblage of rolling art garnered the lion’s share of attention. A close second was the captivating visual medium on display from Jeffrey Lorber.
Jeffrey, as you might surmise, is the owner and creative force behind Lorberphoto. He brings an instinctual eye for composition and color to every photo that his Cannon brings into focus.
Combined with elaborate post-production and printing options, the result is pure art that demands your attention. Today’s offering from Lorberphoto showcased images on paper, metal, and canvas for immediate purchase.
One nagging question haunted us as we looked over Jeffrey’s art. And that is, given how much time and treasure we devote to our fiberglass creations, why don’t more of us have professional photographs of the results?
Food for thought.
Memories Of A Good Time
While we didn’t come home with an extra car for our garage, we did bring back memories of a good time. Which, to be honest, is easier to park in our crowded garage.
Still, you should stop in if you’re around the Gateway facilities at 1870 McFarland Pkwy in Alpharetta on a Caffeine & Chrome Saturday. The event runs from 9 am to noon, leaving you open the rest of the day.
Given the number of people coming and going all morning long, one point is clear. The Caffeine & Chrome Car Show hit its stride in June.
