Seriously, you’ve got to hand it to them.
What Caffeine & Octane fosters at its core is a strong sense of community for Atlanta’s car culture. Ultimately, they get a tip of the hat for understanding community dynamics and delivering an environment that allows it to grow organically.
The result is a collective experience that feels like a much-needed respite from a world that seems more uncertain every day.
In fact, we often call Caffeine & Octane the “Happiest Place on Earth.” You see it in the broad smiles and genuine camaraderie throughout the event.
Fortunately, moving North America’s largest monthly car show to the Town Center Mall at Cobb didn’t reduce attendance one iota. This venue is a better fit in many regards than the one at the Perimeter Mall.
Even under dark, threatening skies, September’s crowds were larger than the previous month. It validates how compelling this rain or shine monthly event is for Atlanta’s car culture.
Riding With The Blue
Where’s the best place to spread the news about your upcoming car show? Obviously, at another car show.
Granted, we have a big soft spot for events that ease suffering and make our community a better place to live. One event that caught our attention was an upcoming show promoted by Sgt Bullis & Officer Nerio from the Cobb County Police Department.
On October 8th, 2022, there will be a “Riding With The Blue” car show and poker run. This event will take place at 2435 East-West Connector, Austell, Ga., from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
This charity event assists the Community Affairs Unit and S.W.A.T. Santa with purchasing and providing gifts for children in families who experience financial hardships during the holiday season.
This show will be free to the public with a $20 donation for participating vehicles and motorcycles.
Airbrush Master
Crowds will quickly gather around your car when you’ve got an eye-catching airbrushed hood liner. If Kim Correll from Happenin’ Cats Airbrush does it, you could probably set up roped stanchions and charge admission.
Happenin’ Cats Airbrush has been in business since 1991, and Kim has been airbrushing since 1983. After graduating from the Art Institute in Atlanta, he began airbrushing for Atlanta ad agencies.
Eventually, he opened his studio, which he named Happenin’ Cats Airbrush. Come to find out, Kim can airbrush on almost anything, including hood liners, tees, tags, helmets, denim, leather, etc.
He also gives private lessons to those looking to expand their artistic skills. You can look for us to bring you more about Kim and his exceptional talent in an upcoming feature article.
Primo Parking Goes Early
We’re always amazed at how quickly time passes at C&O, even when we get there before sunrise. And yes, if you want a choice parking place near the center of the action, you’ve got to give up some sleep time.
Even if you sign up for a saved parking spot with Classic Glass Corvette Club, you’ve got to be there early. The same applies to getting a place from Chief from Amazing Corvettes Club.
Primo spots, even the held ones, go early. Don’t worry, though. They have the event at Town Center Mall at Cobb, so parking is always available.
In the end, we’ve got to hand it to Caffeine & Octane. They know how to bring Atlanta’s car community together.
