Sometimes a car show is more than just a rallying point for passionate car enthusiasts. Such was the case at Caffeine & Octane during their November event.
The largest car show in North America generously provided a specially reserved car corral for the “Drive Toward a Cure” for Parkinson’s disease.
Spearheading this event was Arron Spaulding from the Concours d’Elegance of Atlanta , Mike Thies from South East Wheels Events, and Bruce Piefke, founder and CEO of Caffeine and Octane.

The Drive Toward a Cure is a 501(c)(3) organization established as an “Access to Care” program aligning with the Parkinson’s Foundation and six of their regional Centers of Excellence – including the Emory Udall Parkinson’s Disease Center.
The $100 tax-deductible donation was an exceptional bargain. Especially in light of the planned afternoon’s activities and the points of interest they were visiting.
The Caffeine & Octane event at the Perimeter Mall is the perfect spot to launch a charity cruise event because so many car enthusiasts are already there.
We hope to see more fundraisers like the “Drive Toward a Cure” in the coming months originating from C&O.

Sam Mahdavi From Sam’s Garage
Sometimes you get so busy that you have to schedule time to have fun. If you’re Sam Mahdavi, nationally recognized automotive expert, that is definitely the case.
Sam is the co-host of Sam’s Garage Radio Show, nationally syndicated on AM680 WOGO from 8 am – 9 am and AM920 The Answer from 11 am-noon every Saturday. He co-hosts the show with none other than Sam Memmolo. You might remember from “Two Guy’s Garage,” “Shade Tree Mechanic,” and “Motorhead Garage.”
When he’s not on the radio, you can find Sam hosting the “Sam’s Garage TV” show, which he has done for the past five years.
Velocity Network, MAVTV Network, and the REV’N Network will be televising the twelve-week national television series in 2020.
Sam also founded Mahdavi Motorsports with his brother in 1999. We hope to bring you more in the future about this hard-working, multi-media automotive star.

Father & Son Event
More and more, we’re seeing fathers coming out to car shows with their sons and daughters.
Events like Caffeine & Octane provide a natural opportunity to share a common interest and pass on the passion for Corvettes.
We’ve got our fingers crossed. Hopefully, this trend continues because it’s great for our hobby, and it just makes us feel good inside to see it.

FuelTech – Twin Turbo Wonder
Some have claimed the engine control unit (ECU) of the new Corvette can’t be cracked. If that’s true, the lastest Vette will be “un-tunable” by the aftermarket.
The electrical architecture and engine control units (ECU) are not necessarily completely tied together. Although they are symbiotic, they can still be modified separately.
Are you wondering how to do that? FuelTech, located in Ball Ground, Ga, would be the place to start.
We spoke with Anderson, the CEO of FuelTech, as he showed us their C8 mule platform sporting twin-turbos and a separate ECU. Stay tuned for our interview with Anderson from his state-of-the-art facilities.

Every C&O Is Different
No two months of Caffeine & Octane are ever the same. It seems each month brings with it a new mix of car lovers to talk to and meticulously prepared Corvettes to drool over.
There is no question charity involvement elevates this monthly event’s status in the hearts and minds of car enthusiasts. We hope Caffeine & Octane continues to support worthwhile charities like “Drive for a Cure.”
Everybody crosses the finish line a winner when they do.
