Corvette Cruisers of Atlanta Boogie In The Streets Of Lawrenceville

The Corvette Cruisers of Atlanta (CCA) came, they saw, and they boogied in the streets.

That’s what you do when the city of Lawrenceville invites you to its downtown “Lawrenceville Boogie”  block party. And, of course, CCA, who is always up for a fun car event, happily obliged.

With the town’s center square cordoned off to traffic, the car show portion of the festivities filled the streets with hot rods and customs of all sorts. While spectators “oohed and aahed” over the show cars, three separate stages of live music kept the crowd’s energy high.

The Corvette Cruisers did their part by shaking the pavement with a dozen pristine examples of America’s Sports Car. As the club rolled in, heads turned, and people scrambled for their phones to take photos and shoot video.

In addition to enjoying the live music, the club was there to support Beyond the Ribbon, the event’s charity co-sponsor. CCA has a well-deserved reputation for its philanthropic support of local charities, with Beyond the Ribbon high on its list.

Beyond the financial gifting, Corvette Cruisers is also known for showing up en masse to demonstrate their support, as they did this day.

Beyond The Ribbon

Bobbie Menneg, the Board President of Beyond the Ribbon, has emerged as one of the area’s top charity event organizers. This successful “Lawrenceville Boogie” event collaboration with the city is one of her growing number of triumphs.

As you may know, Beyond the Ribbon advocates for support and resources beyond cancer diagnosis. Funds generated by heartfelt donations and charity events like this one help those in our community.

Through its diligent work, this organization educates, inspires hope, and cultivates awareness. As a breast cancer survivor herself, Bobbie saw a need in our community and set out to make a difference.

With each charity event, the crowds have grown, the venue has expanded, and the support she can offer those in need has multiplied.

Fun For A Cause

Car shows are a good time on their own, but an event like “Lawrenceville Boogie” takes fun to a new level. Layer in that Beyond the Ribbon receives a portion of the proceeds, and you instantly have fun for a cause.

The community turnout for this downtown block party exceeded many hopes. It is a shining example of how a city can partner with a charity and create an event that thousands can enjoy.

Plus, it was the perfect excuse for Corvette Cruisers of Atlanta members to put on their boogie shoes and dance in the streets of Lawrenceville.
