VetteStock Gives Back To The NCM

In 1953, when GM executives were looking to name the new Chevrolet sports car, Myron Scott, assistant director for the Public Relations department, suggested “Corvette.”

The name was approved by General Motors and has stuck ever since.

What also has stuck over all of these years is the sense of family you feel when you own one of America’s Sports Cars. For our family, home is the National Corvette Museum (NCM) at 350 Corvette Dr, Bowling Green, KY.

The NCM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity whose mission is to celebrate the Corvette’s invention and preserve the legendary automobile’s past, present, and future. In support of the Museum’s mission, Classic Glass Corvette Club of Marietta recently hosted VetteStock 2020 at the Miller Ale House restaurant in Alpharetta, Ga.

The turnout for this all-Corvette event was strong, and the enthusiasm for the beloved Museum was even stronger.

Next Generation Of Vette Owners

VetteStock 2020 brought out quite a few young boys and girls to the event to enjoy the beautiful Vettes with their parents. Judging by the number of young people at the show, the future looks bright for Corvette.

As we always say, you’re never too young to fall in love with Corvettes.

C8’s Were Out In Force

The eighth-generation Corvettes were out in force for this event. Through the Spring and early Summer months, we only saw a handful of the latest creations from the assembly plant at Bowling Green in the wild.

This much-anticipated event enticed several owners of the latest generation to come out, including those with the visually striking new convertible option.

Beautiful Vettes Everywhere

A popular event like VetteStock brings out some of the finest Corvettes in the area. This show was no exception.

When you have a show like this, there isn’t enough time to talk to everyone or take a photo of their beautiful Vette for the article.

We’ll do our best to include you at the next show.

Miller’s Ale House Steps Up

These days it’s getting tougher for clubs to find a place to host their events. Miller’s Ale House at 10750 Davis Drive in Alpharetta not only stepped up this year but has supported this event for several years.

This very cool local restaurant and sports bar is well known for its wide variety of freshly prepared dishes. From Filet Mignon to original pasta dishes, salads, and boneless chicken Zingers, their extensive menu offers something for everyone.

Did I mention they have 75 varieties of beer along with cocktail specials? If you’re in the area, stop in for lunch or dinner and enjoy all that this fun restaurant has to offer.

It’s always good to support those who genuinely support the Corvette family.

Real & Meaningful NCM Support

All proceeds from the 2020 VetteStock event went to benefit the National Corvette Museum. Their goal was to raise funds for the NCM, and that they did.

When it came to trophies, the event stepped up strong as well. There were awards handed out for the Top 20 Corvettes, plus a Miller’s Ale House Manager’s Award.

They also had a 50/50 raffle and sold shirts and memorabilia from the mobile National Museum store. At the end of the event, fun was had by all, and VetteStock definitely gave back to the NCM.
