Count On The Annual CCA Corvette & Camaro Car Show To Be A Good Time

A collection of trophies.
Over 50 trophies were given out.

There are some things you can take to the bank every year.

Atlanta’s summers will be hot, and Corvette Cruisers of Atlanta’s annual Corvettes & Camaros car show will be a good time. This, their 12th annual event, was certainly no exception to the rule.

Having witnessed this team in action from predawn setup to late afternoon teardown, this energized group of volunteers knew their assignment. Smiles were wide, energy was high, and the day went off with military precision.

That infectious energy permeated every corner of this car-loving experience, from team members to vendors and participants. Of course, it helped that DJ Bob and Sue kept the place hopping with a great sound system and a killer playlist.

Beyond The Ribbon, Inc.

Corvette Cruisers of Atlanta (CCA) uses this car show and other events throughout the year to raise funds to support local charities. This year, Beyond the Ribbon, Inc. is one of the chief beneficiaries of their charitable donations.

Beyond the Ribbon’s mission is to advocate for support and resources beyond the diagnosis of Cancer, to educate, inspire hope, cultivate awareness, and empower individuals throughout their journey and beyond.

To that end, they are active in the local community, especially in the area of car shows. We’ve been fortunate to have covered them this year in these articles:

“Beyond The Ribbon” Brings A Capacity Car Show To Sugar Hill and

“Show Your Ride For The Ribbons” Brings A Hot Show To The Hudgens Center For Art.

Vettes For Vets Club

Rod Worley—Editor – Can you give us insights into the “Vettes for Vets” club and the “Door Knock” experience?

Steve Tibrea – Georgia Director of Vettes For Vets – Our focus is on making a difference in one veteran’s life at a time. We identify honorably discharged low-income veterans with needs that governmental programs don’t cover.

To that end, we are a nonprofit 501c3 made up of volunteers in nine states and growing. To support our mission, 94% of all donated funds go directly to the veterans.

An example last year was a Vietnam veteran COVID-19 victim on oxygen 24/7. We did a “Door Knock” at his home.

In his case, he couldn’t go outside, so we cleaned up his backyard, put up a new fence for his dog, and paid some of his bills. This year, we had a veteran with a special needs child.

She needed a new roof and some maintenance around her home. In each case, the outpouring of gratitude and genuine emotion moved the hearts of everyone involved.

A “Door Knock” experience for the veteran is like having Ed McMan from Publisher’s Clearinghouse showing up at your door with a big check.

On the “Knock” day, we organize our caravan of volunteers, vendors, elected officials, local Corvette clubs, and TV crews a few miles away. Our caravan then heads to the veteran’s home with lights flashing and sirens blaring from our police escort.

With all this fanfare and outpouring of support, there isn’t a dry eye in the house. If you know of a veteran in need or want to join our club, contact us at Vettes For Vets.Club.

Corvette Cruisers Of Atlanta

The hard-working team of CCA put another successful car show in the win column, though that’s nothing new. These enthusiastic lovers of America’s Sports Car have been putting on successful, well-attended car shows for many years.

When they’re not raising money for local charities, they can be found going on day cruises, overnight trips, or social events. You should look hard at this club if you’re looking for a group that grabs every opportunity to drive their Corvettes.

They hold their club meeting on the second Monday of the month at Frida’s Mexican Restaurant, 706 Grayson Hwy #206, Lawrenceville, GA 30045. Members usually arrive at the restaurant around 5:30 p.m. to get reacquainted and have dinner. Meeting starts at 7 p.m.

Over 50 Awards & Trophies

For the trophy hunters among us, your best odds in Atlanta for taking home hardware is at this annual event. For 2024, they handed out over 50 well-deserved awards and trophies.

They can deliver that many awards because Corvette Cruisers of Atlanta works year-round to engage and energize the local business community. Their efforts were rewarded this year with a vendor banner filled with the names of businesses and individuals who gave generously.

Among the most notable were Global Electronic Services, Perimeter Roofing, Sky Collision, Johnson Wealth Advisor of Raymond James, AACFA, Shiny Fenders, and Three Fold Chiropractic Wellness.

The Next Stop Foundation and Beyond the Ribbon were the primary beneficiaries of the event held at C3 Church, 1065 Walther Blvd, GA. Country Inn & Suites, 989 Duluth Highway, Lawrenceville, GA, was the host hotel for those traveling from other states.

As we get set to close the book on the 2024 car show season, we can’t wait to see what this hard-charging group of Corvette enthusiasts has for us in 2025.
