Red, White & Cue – 4th of July Car Show

Red, White & Cue car show on July 4th

One thing is for sure, the Georgia Cool Cruisers know how to throw an event. Rick Ellis, Karen O’Neil, and their entire team have a history of organizing fun car shows.

Their Saturday, July 4th event at Peachtree Corners was no exception. The weather was perfect for a July event in Atlanta, and everyone was eager to responsibly socialize outdoors.

There was a nice diversity of show cars in attendance, from ’50s era classics to futuristic Mad Max vehicles, and of course, Corvettes. One thing is for certain, if there is a car show that benefits a worthwhile organization, you’ll get a healthy number of the Bowling Green creations in attendance.

The event on Saturday, July 4th was put on to benefit a very worthwhile nonprofit organization, Furkids.

Car Show Benefits Furkids

For those of you who may not be familiar with them, Furkids is a nonprofit animal rescue and shelter. Their headquarters is in Atlanta, GA, and they are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization.

This nonprofit operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter for dogs. Furkids also operates one of the only facilities in the Southeast dedicated to the care of FIV positive cats.

Furkids has rescued and altered more than 30,000 animals since its founding in 2002. Approximately 1,000 animals are in the Furkids program today.

This is the only animal rescue organization in metro Atlanta that allows children of all ages to volunteer.

Corvettes Show Up In Force

Of the roughly 80 cars in the show, about 15 or so were Corvettes. Of those, the Amazing Corvette Club was well represented.

Their row of beautiful Vettes were displaying the serious horsepower that can be coaxed out of the Chevy small block engine. Honestly, there was considerable pavement-punishing power on display here.

When asked for their engine builder of choice? The overwhelming answer was Lamar Walden Automotive over at 6-B Steve Drive in Doraville, GA.

Corvettes Everywhere

There weren’t just Corvette clubs in attendance either. The Vette faithful from around the area turned out to show their support for this worthwhile charity.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get a photo of every Corvette in attendance. Be sure to look us up at the next event, and we’ll get you included.

Great Independence Day Fun

After four long months without a fun car show fundraiser, everyone was eager to finally kick off the season. Really want to thank Cool Cruisers of Georgia for putting on a well-run event that was able to generate over $2,000 in donations for Furkids.

As for us, we loved every minute of it!
